CDLH Chartered Surveyors sold (January 2020) the famous St Andrews in the Square, which is considered one of the finest classical churches in Scotland on behalf of Glasgow Building Preservation Trust (GBPT).
Alan Creevy, the Director in charge of the sale at CDLH, commented, “We were delighted to have been instructed to market such a prestigious building at the heart of Glasgow City Centre, on the edge of the prosperous Merchant City and close to Glasgow Cross and Glasgow Green. The building provides circa 13,600 sq. ft. over basement, ground and mezzanine levels and really is one of Glasgow’s gems”.
Alan Creevy commented further, “The asking price was offers over £495,000 and sale generated a massive intertest across the UK and from overseas. After a full marketing campaign, we set a closing date back in October 2019 and received many offers from a variety of end users." The sale completed in January 2020. CDLH were unable to identify the purchase but confirmed the sale price was significantly above the asking price. Further the new owners have a history of investing and preserving in historic buildings which was very important to the sellers.
